In this episode of the How Women Write Podcast, I explore the magic of using Mercury retrograde to improve my life, business, and, of course — writing.

Mercury is the planet that affects communication, so you can use this to your advantage and add some shine to all your writing projects. Since Mercury Retrograde happens a few times a year, you've got multiple opportunities to use it to your advantage.

Mercury Retrograde is the time of the "re's": review, reevaluate, revise, refresh, and repurpose. It's a goldmine of opportunity for writers.

Reevaluate your writing projects.

Are you still excited about them?

Is there anything you need to change?

Review your plans for the year. Are you still on track? Do you need to adjust anything?

It's okay if you don't have all the answers right away. Give yourself permission to slow down and journal on it — clarity will come.

Generally, Mercury retrograde isn't usually the best time to start something brand new, like launching a book or a major project, unless you know you're going to revisit it later. It's a fantastic time to review, revise, refresh, and repurpose. It's a time to dive into your writing projects and go deeper.

Here's what you'll get from this episode:

  • What Mercury retrograde is and how to apply it to your writing life — starting today

  • How I'm using this Mercury Retrograde in Aries and Pisces to revisit my blogs and pause and review my spiritual practices

  • Dozens of specific ideas to review, repurpose, and refresh your writing

  • Practical ways to stretch everything you write even further to attract new readers

  • Fun ways to repurpose and freshen up just about any piece of writing, from blogs to books to nurture sequences to newsletters and even your website copy

I hope that after listening, you're as excited about Mercury retrograde as I am :) It's such a great time for reflection and growth and for making your writing shine!
